What we had

Serving authentic local cuisine in an atrium of  gastronomic diversity.

Okra Kitchen by Ravi & Sepali are known for bringing in authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, especially in a food atrium that has a variety of cuisines! They say the way to get to anyone’s heart is through the stomach and Okra Kitchen surely stole our hearts away with their scrumptious food!

Compared to the rest of the Food Studio, The Okra Kitchen has its own designated seating so you don’t have to worry about carrying a massive plate of rice and trying to find a seat! The staff is friendly as well, so don’t be shy if you want to go back for seconds or thirds!

Lunch Buffet – LKR 760

Although a little pricey for one plate of rice, the best part of The Okra Kitchen lunch buffet is that you can go and serve as many times as you want! They have a large spread of which you have the option of choosing from 3 varieties of rice, 5 varieties of vegetables including dhal, 3 varieties of salads and 3 varieties of egg, fish or chicken curry.

On Plate: Dhal, Pumpkin, Thimbatu, Gotukola Sambol, Ambarella, Malay Pickle, Papadum and Chicken Curry

I simply cannot stress enough on how good my plate of rice was! I believe that every household has a distinct flavor when it comes to everyday lunch that differs from house to house, but The Okra Kitchen executed its cooking so well that it almost felt like my mother cooked it, if not better! Sorry, ma.

The curries blended so well with each other, balancing out the spice from the chicken and dhal with the pumpkin, bringing in the acidity from the ambarella and malay pickle; AH SO GOOD. So fresh.

My review cannot do justice, words fail during times like these; which is why you need to go check it out yourself!

Home is where the heart is, and I left a piece of mine back at the top floor of Food Studio.
