Ah, Valentine’s Day; the season when romance, love and anti-valentine sentiments – on the part of those who are single – fly around like cupid’s arrows. If you did happen to forget that the 14th of February is just around the corner, we’ve put together a few gift ideas that would surely impress your wife or girlfriend.
1. A bouquet
Guys, I don’t think giving her flowers is optional. A single rose or a dozen of her favourite flowers hand delivered to her door-step, would be counted as a swoon-worthy moment. Flowers are absolutely adored as a classic gift idea. Consider delivering the flowers in person because effort would be thoroughly appreciated by her.
2. Bling it up
The key to getting the right kind of jewellery, is to know her preferences. We’re talking narrowing it down from gold or silver to rings or pendants. Personalize or customize the jewellery to suite her preference. Or even better, personalize it so that it is a piece of jewellery that is special to the both of you.
3. For the bibliophile
If you happen to be saddled with a book worm, you my friend have quite an easy job. Two or three books from her favourite author, perhaps even a hardcover edition of her favourite book, and you just might be christened as a keeper. 4. A girl’s best friend
Forget diamonds, food is a girl’s best friend. If your partner is a serious foodie, make things easier and take her out on a fancy dinner/ lunch date. On the other hand, if she happens to like keeping things simple, appeal to her sweet tooth and take her out on a quaint cake/ ice-cream date.
5. Keep it old school
Its a rarity to get a letter these days, that’s why a well written letter might just win you some points. Store bought cards and social media posts are nice, but nothing says well thought out than an old fashioned handmade card or handwritten letter.
Pro- tip: Take it a step further and compile a bunch of “Open when” letters to make the effort look twice as great.
6. Make her a home cooked meal
Taking her out on a fancy date would be amazing, but nothing screams intimacy and romance like a home cooked meal. Trust me, if you make a meal to tingle her taste buds, she will show you her gratitude in unimaginable ways. *wink wink*.
7. For the Photographer in her
If she’s the kinda gal who loves taking photos and capturing moments, you can never go wrong with a Polaroid camera!
8. Take her on a shopping spree
Okay, you may wanna be prepared to spend a lot. When I say a lot, I mean a lot. Your girl may not be the type to go overboard and spend way too much, but by taking her on a spree, you’ll give her the chance to get something she really loves.
