Sun, Surf, and Underground Beats

From 28-30 August 2026, the East Coast will transform into the epicenter of Sri Lanka’s underground electronic music scene as Arugam Days returns. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Indian Ocean, the newly expanded three-day weekend promises an uncompromising delivery of world-class house, tech house, and progressive house, pristine beaches, and peak travel conditions.

The period between April and September is universally recognized as the absolute best time to travel to the East Coast. During this golden window, the region experiences dry, warm weather, endless sunshine, and offshore winds that create some of the most consistent and famous surf breaks in the world. The festival weekend perfectly aligns with this peak season. Attendees can spend their mornings catching waves at Main Point, exploring local wildlife, and relaxing on golden sands before the energy shifts to the dance floor.

Produced by ‘By WiRED’, the weekend kicks off on Friday, 28 August, with the highly anticipated return of the Take My Bass series for Volume 5. Taking over Funky De Bar, Sri Lanka’s premier underground tech house series lands on the east coast for the first time to set the tone for the massive weekend ahead.

Headlining Friday night is Colombo legend Shiyam, bringing 25 years of minimal and deep tech and tech house mastery to the decks. He leads an immersive, groove-driven lineup featuring VK Black, Soul SL, Strudy, Ritmik, Augi, Dian, and MJ.

On Saturday and Sunday, the main Arugam Days festival takes over. Headlining Day 1 (29 August) is Italian electronic pioneer Stefano Noferini, bringing his signature driving sound to the Indian Ocean for the very first time. The full weekend features an elite roster of talent representing the absolute peak of Sri Lanka’s underground sound:
