The 9th Annual Thomian Old Boys Cricket Carnival this year, organized jointly by the S. Thomas’ College Mt. Lavinia Class of 1990, 1999 and 2001, will be held on Saturday 24th September 2016 at 9.00 AM at the “NCC” Grounds – Maitland Place Colombo 07.
Given the past success of this event, “The Thomian Cricket Carnival” has now become a most looked forward to event by the Thomian fraternity. The past eight competitions attracted over 32 old boy teams from, Class Groups from the 1970s to the 2014 which, included Thomians from Mt. Lavinia, Prep – Kollupitiya, Guruthalawa and Bandarawela. Resulting in attracting over 2,000 old boys, family members, well-wishers and other spectators who add glamour and colour, to these proceedings.
Similar to previous years’ festivities, the “Carnival” like atmosphere will prevail with unlimited entertainment in true Thomian spirit. Live Band, DJ, Papare Band, Old Crocks, Food and Drink Stalls, Kiddies Corner and other spirited entertainment. It will be a family event culminating with a fireworks display.
This year for the first time, we also have a couple of our sister schools (PPA’s) participating in this tournament in true camaraderie, help fostering friendships beyond school days.
Like in the past, the Senior Thomian Icons will play for the “Masters Trophy” and the rest will compete for the, “Class of 90 Challenge Trophy”.
All proceeds from this event will go towards the S. Thomas’ College – Mt. Lavinia “Lower School Building Project”.
