2017 Nov 27

gudppl (good people), winner of the Infotel Startup Awards 2017 celebrates INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER DAY with the official launch of their website and mobile app.

gudppl invites you to ‘Collaboration 2017’ – a summit to inspire action, celebrating volunteerism. The event will be held at the BMICH (Mihilaka Medura) on 5th December 2017, from 9AM – 6PM.

gudppl is a new social network that connects people of all ages, skill sets and interests who want to volunteer with those who need volunteers. Their aim is to become the go-to resource (dynamic one-stop shop) for individuals and groups to find volunteering opportunities or for organisations to efficiently and reliably identify suitable volunteers who can enhance their efforts and impact. They are improving the way we connect volunteers, donors with beneficiaries. Their mission is to make a positive impact in Sri Lanka and around the world by mobilizing communities to do good. We believe a group of socially conscious, responsible citizens, who are committed to building compassionate communities, can change our world. For the first time in Sri Lanka, gudppl is bringing together volunteers, donors, CSR professionals and beneficiaries to one location, to do good. (E.g. Non-profit organizations/groups, charities, children’s homes, elders’ homes, etc.).

The summit consists of an exhibition (free entrance) with 35 non-profits, charities and NGOs showcasing their current initiatives, sharing how they are serving communities and raising awareness about the needs of people (e.g. volunteers, goods, funds for specific projects, etc.). The speaker sessions will take place simultaneously, with international and local speakers, addressing gudppl’s five core areas of focus (Animal support, Disaster relief, Education, Environment and People/Community) with thought provoking panel discussions and speeches.
