The premier global luxury travel magazine, Condé Nast Traveler recently unveiled the winners of its Readers’ Choice Awards, the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry. Condé Nast Traveler is a luxury magazine aimed at the upmarket, independent traveler.
The 31st Annual Awards took place this year, ranking the world’s best hotels, resorts, cities, islands, etc., where two splendid Ceylon Hotels landed top ranks under the category of Asia! Cape Weligama landed a spot within the top 10 whereas Wild Coast made a cut in the top 20, within just a year of opening! Despite having a small number of rooms, these achievements go to prove how popular these hotels are among their past guests.
Cape Weligama
Cape Weligama is a luxurious resort that lies along Sri Lanka’s palm fringed Southern shores. It is situated 30 minutes away from Galle, consisting of 39 villas and suites, inhabiting 12 tropical acres.
The Wild Coast Tented Lodge
The Wild Coast Tented Lodge is located on a secluded beach by the edge of Yala National Park, consisting of 28 vaulted Cocoon tents and 8 Urchin tents for kids; offering the comfort of a luxury hotel alongside the excitement of an authentic safari experience.
Evidently, Cape Weligama and The Wild Coast Tented Lodge deserved the ranks they obtained and hopefully will climb their way up the ladder to bring recognition to our lovely little island.
