What we had
Weekend brunch with a view!
Let’s Brunch is a vibrant little cafe that shares the space with ‘The Fat Crab’ down Marine Road. It’s an open space with a beautiful view of the seaside and fun adult coloring sheets to keep you company while you wait for your food. They’ve got an Instagram friendly wall filled up with retro posters behind the cashier too! We’ve heard great things about Let’s Brunch and we were pretty excited to try it out. Here’s what we thought.
Drinks:
The Banarama – LKR 550
The Banarama is one of their most wanted smoothies and is a chocolate banana combo made frothy with milk. Personally, I have an acquired taste for banana and chocolates and I actually enjoyed this one a lot. A perfect smoothie to have on a Sunday morning.
The Beets – LKR 525
The Beets is a healthier, organic juice. It’s a mix of beetroot, carrot, apple and ginger. The perfect pick me up the morning after a late night. It can be your hangover cure and can give your body the energy boost it’s yearning for. Since healthy juices aren’t supposed to taste nice, I’ll let the taste of it pass (it doesn’t taste too great). Especially when kept side by side in comparison with the Banarama.
Food:
The Full English – LKR 1290
Out of the four items that we tried, the Full English Breakfast, was our favorite by a long shot. It was a classic dish with a few different elements. An egg, sunny side up and bathed in pepper; two mini jumbo sausages; some bacon; sautéed mushrooms; a small bowl of baked beans; sautéed tomatoes and two toasted slices of bread. For LKR 1290, we thought this was quite a catch.
Eggs Benedict Classic – LKR 695 (+ LKR 395 – Smoked Salmon; + LKR 295 – the Cumberbatch)
We first opted for the Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon which came up to a whopping total of LKR 1090. The eggs and salmon lay over two toasted buns with two fried shredded potato balls on the side. The salmon was insanely salty, two bites into it and we knew something was terribly wrong. When questioned, the waiter let us know that the chef had warned him that the salmon stock was pretty salty that day and to keep aware the customers ordering the dish. He continued to apologize profusely and offered to bring another. We then opted for the spicy creamed crab, the Cumberbatch! Loved the alternative!
Let’s Brunch Mac ‘N Cheese – LKR 795 (+ 195 – with spicy crab)
First off, this was a rather small portion for the price of LKR 990. A meagre meal when compared to the price of it. It was a homely mac and cheese, but, I wouldn’t say it was the best.
Waffles – LKR 725 (with mushroom and spinach with cheese)
The Waffles with Mushroom, Spinach and Cheese was our least favorite. The waffles were fluffy and soft but the cheesy mushroom and spinach stew wasn’t a show stopper. They could have worked a little bit more of flavour and especially, presentation.

Tip: Go for the Full English!
