We watch out TV’s religiously, and generally flip out at every premiere and finale, but there’s nothing like seeing our favorite small-screen actors glammed up for the Emmys. Because while we love following their characters, seeing the cast of Orange is the New Black or Downtown Abbey trade their orange jumpsuits and period-piece costumes, respectively, for red carpet gowns is a thrill every fashion girl lives for.

The “Bad Romance” singer and American Horror Story: Hotel star looked elegant in a black single-shoulder dress by her longtime stylist Brandon Maxwell, who just debuted his first runway collection during New York Fashion Week.

“It’s Marc Jacobs. It just was on the runway like two or three days ago and it has a lot of holes in it because it’s mesh — so, in this weather it’s working well [referring to triple digit temps],” said the Scandal star of her embroidered metallic dot lace dress, paired with Harry Winston diamonds. “I feel the breeze in all kinds of places.”
