The French Spring Festival will shine in Sri Lanka between June 14th and July 14th for its 7th edition. Organized jointly by the Embassy of France in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and the Alliance Française de Kotte in Colombo, the festival will showcase the excellence of French culture and its modern aspects during events organized both in Colombo and Kandy.
One of the main events during this festival is the International Music Day aka Fête de la Musique where there will be an Open Mic at the Alliance Française de Kotte in Colombo at 5pm on June 21st where everyone is invited to join in to express themselves through music. A special performance by the Alliance Francaise choir and local professional and amateur musicians will be take place.
French DJ Joachim Labrande (Paris) who has been invited especially for this event will perform his first show to the public at the Café Français at 9pm on June 21st and the event is free of charge. He will then head on to the Hill Capital on June 23rd and be welcomed in true Kandyan hospitality by the Amaya Hills team. DJ Joachim will be meeting with the students from the Alliance Francaise De Kandy before taking stage at the one and only Le Garage to spin some of his American House Music influenced by Jazz, Techno house, Rock, and Disco on 23rd June 2018. Students from the Alliance Francaise De Kandy will be at Amaya Hills to meet DJ Joachim and speak with him.
DJ Joachim Labrande has been in the DJ industry for the past 18 years and has played at all the leading famous clubs in the French capital (Paris) and around Europe. At the moment he is the resident at the Bristol Palace bar. His music took him to launch the party “House Music All Night Long” in the well-known Parisian nightclub Wanderlust in 2015. His inspirations are Kerri Chandler, Chez Damier, and Lil Louis.
