Religion for some of us is a way of life and for some of us it’s a teaching that’s been taught to lead a better life peacefully amongst other people in the society. You are born with a religion just like you are born with a race, but you are born with a religion like your race only to have a diversity amongst rest of us in the world. The teachings that were passed on to us by human that are greater than us or leaders who had an unbreakable will to civilise human into positivity whilst bringing in humanity in us to make this world a better place. Any religion, they teaches and states that there is a good and a bad way to live your life. A religion teaches us which are good deeds and which are bad. A religion is a theory, which had predictions of future possibilities which were based on facts or an incident that had happened at that time of the age and teaches us life lessons to grown into a better human being. A religion teaches us to love, live, and laugh with everyone in this world till the end our time. But are we really religious? Do we really comprehend what our religious leaders or gods taught us? Are we just born with a religion and are blindly following it for the sake of it? In a world of chaos and conflicts religious teaching is something we all need, don’t we need to remind ourselves about these great religious teachings to overcome these issues?

People have made religion a competition and are sometimes foolish enough to actually say which religion is the best religion that ever existed. In Sri Lanka people havereached a level, where they compare religious celebration of two different religions in an area to see which one was grander. They discuss about it out in public without considering about the sociological inflict that they are forcing upon other religious groups. Sometimes its two religious establishments next door blasting off prayers at the same time leaving rest of us not to hear anything but only to be left with a headache. Which religious teaching has taught us to be competitive and senseless against other religious beliefs? Number one rule that you need to understand is to live gracefully and peacefully in this society without any unnecessary religious conflicts. Just remind yourself that one small senseless word or action could lead into unforgettable massacres.

When somebody combines their personal feelings and preaches religiously about a religious teaching that has never been taught to us, picture the immense damage they are imposing on the original religious teaching. Not only are the fake religious preachers, the blind and fake religious followers are also an utter disappointment in this society. Open your eyes and think for yourself for a second before you encourage these kinds of insensible social behaviour. Fake religious actions does not end there, people who do actual crimes in the day light in this society are doing massive religious contributions and events for the whole wide world to see. Are you doing it because you believe you are religious or just to feel good about yourself? Why go do something holy and religious when you just know it’s all just a lot of money thrown at something only you believe is religious? Religion is not a wall that you can use to cover up your mistakes or to redeem yourself of things you cannot redeem within this life time. Realise why a religion is there for. If you want to live by your way life make that way your religion, do not use an existing holy teaching to cover up yourself and to find excuses to show the society that you can redeem yourself by doing contributions towards that religion. Is this why a religion is there for? Have we lost sense of purpose of having a religion? We are human. We need to be taught, and the teaching we learnt from our religions are only there for the goodness of the existence not for destruction or for personal marketing purposes. If one day we lose all we have, religious teaching we learnt will be there for us to guide into a light and to get us through what we’ve been through. Don’t ruin great religious teaching just because you feel like doing so, mind you like taught in our religious teachings, EVERYTHING WILL COME TO AN END. Whatever you do will end one day: good or bad. But just make sure that you don’t ruin all the good things that were given to the rest of us as well.
