For anyone living and traveling in Colombo, it is impossible to escape the hundreds of Tuk Tuks (a.k.a. three-wheelers) weaving in and out of traffic on a daily basis. They have become one of the most popular forms of transport around the country.

While many different people find them convenient, loud, annoying, or wonderful, there is one aspect of Tuk Tuks we all find fascinating – the Tuk Tuk quotes, which can basically be termed as one of Sri Lanka’s most underrated treasure chest of wisdom.

Yep, that’s right. Tuk Tuk quotes can be wise, advisory, and downright hilarious. In light of this, we have compiled a list of the best Tuk Tuk quotes seen across the city.

This is easily the most popular quote to be found! If you haven’t seen this Tuk Tuk quote at least once, you’re definitely not from Colombo. ‘Who Flies Not High, Falls Not Low’ appears to be the motto of Tuk drivers across the city.

In fact, these particular Tuks have combined them with some religious and romantic wisdom! These drivers appear to be sharing the same wise motto, advising the public to always remain in the middle. No flying or falling allowed in this zone, sorry.

Without the hint of any sugarcoating, this particular Tuk driver is being as blunt as possible. If he’s referring to the male anatomy, then this quote certainly promotes a positive and healthy body image. If not, he’s probably talking about cricket or something. Either way, message received.

Ah, a clear dilemma is present! We will never know for sure whether this driver really loves his wife very much, or whether his wife is insistent on letting everyone know he’s taken and happy. We can simply hope that his life actually is very nice. He even made it rhyme, so that does seem like a positive sign!

In all honesty, this is some really helpful advice. This driver isn’t going to support the immature way people handle their lives. Instead, he is living life as realistically as possible. After all, it isn’t a game. Why on earth should you play it?

This one is a real winner. Some very serious safe driving advice, coupled with a hilarious joke. One of the unsung heroes of our nation, this driver is promoting road safety in a very effective manner. After all, everyone knows a handful of drivers who could seriously learn something from this. These are the kind of people whom advertising companies need to start recruiting!

So many mixed messages with this one, including ‘Love is Dead’, ‘Girls or Poison’, and ‘No girls…Only my wife’. A rather contradictory set of quotes, he seems to be implying that although he is clearly taken and his wife cannot be replaced, love is dead. The poison quote simply takes it to a whole other level. Coupled with that terrifying tree, the overall theme of this Tuk is way too dark for us to even comprehend.

This is another highly confusing and thought-provoking Tuk quote. We are given no context whatsoever. The Tuk isn’t even colourful to begin with! Maybe this driver is trying his best to promote positivity instead of jealousy? Just… so many questions about this one.

First of all, who are these obscure Colombo gangsters? Secondly, girls are definitely going to wear make-up either way. This public message intended for advisory purposes is clearly not going to benefit anybody, least of all the ‘Colombo Gangsters’.

Assuming this driver was actually talking about Heaven, this is a profound, deep, and very meaningful quote. This driver bought a Tuk and spewed wisdom straight away. Remind me, why are Tuk drivers not philosophers?

This appears to fall along the same lines as our first quote, the popular ‘Who Flies Not High, Falls Not Low’ quote. It is a very important reminder to always stay humble, honest, and to completely change your lifestyle, no matter what it was. Just change it.

Once again, Tuk quotes really are the undiscovered pearls of wisdom we have all been searching for. And finally, after obtaining so much hilarity, wisdom, and advice, there is only one thing we can say!
