The Original Rocket Burger, Mirissa

The Original Rocket Burger is certainly not unheard of; the burger specialists are incredibly popular in Galle, and are a go-to destination down south. They now have a cute and cozy joint down in Mirissa too, which opened just last year, so we decided to drop by and check out what they have to offer! Here’s what we thought of their dishes.

Drinks

Iced Tea – LKR 200
The signature Blue Flamingo Iced Tea is the main drink Rocket Burger had to offer, and it was both refreshing and delicious. However, we did wish they had a larger variety of drinks on offer, since it was limited to soft drinks and the iced tea. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it!

Mains

Gringo – Chicken – LKR 980We opted for the Chicken version of the Gringo, filled with cheese, BBQ Sauce, crispy onion, green chili mayo, caramelized onions, ketchup, and mustard. One thing’s for sure, it certainly did not disappoint! The meat was succulent and delicious, and the thick fries that accompanied the dish were absolutely on point. This dish was definitely worth the price, and we’d go back for those fries any day.

Chicken Fingers – LKR 1250We decided to try something other than their popular burgers, and absolutely loved the big basket of chicken fingers we were served! The quantity was good, worth the price, and great for sharing if you’re with a group of friends, especially since this had fries accompanying it as well. The chicken was tender, crispy, delicious, and piping hot.

The ambience at Rocket Burger in Mirissa is a different experience altogether, and certainly even better than their branch in Galle. The staff was quite friendly and we had a great experience altogether. Located right near the beach, it’s the perfect place to grab a filling meal after a relaxing swim in the ocean. If you’re in Mirissa, drop by and check them out.

Tip: Don’t limit yourself to their delicious burgers. Try out the other mains as well!
