Good news folks! Pokémon Go is officially available for Android smartphones and iPhones now. So, brace yourselves and get used to the sight of people string at their phones (more than usual) and running around Sri Lanka looking for different Pokémon species!
The hype that gushed in with the introduction of the adventurous game, Pokémon Go, a few months back was an unforgettable experience, not just for us Lankans, but for everyone around the world. The mobile phone game had some of the laziest couch potatoes on their feet and out of the house, looking for Pokémon characters to catch. Granted that this is not exactly how your mums wanted you to get out and about, it still prompted you to probably join forces with fellow players and walk around, searching for the virtual characters (means to an end, am I right?). There were Pokémon Meet Ups, where players would flock together at one location and embark on poke-hunts!
Well, all this came to a halt when the app was pulled due to it not being officially available in many countries, including our own. Obviously, you guys were furious about it and people who followed an ‘Eat-Sleep-Pokémon Go-Repeat’ life didn’t very much take it all too well.
But with the app making an official comeback, there’s nothing to hold you back!
(PS- Moms, be prepared to spend a hefty amount of time telling your kids (and maybe even your husband!) off for being anti-social. Pokémon Go players, gear up for some Go time, ample scoldings and hearing more of “It’s because you’re always on that bloody phone!”)
