A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of curious photographs.

A horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

If you’re searching for a quirky and haunting fantasy adventure, look no further. Riggs’ bestseller debut novel brings you exactly the magical experience you were looking for. The plot and idea behind the story is extremely unconventional and unique. The book is accompanied by a series of sinister and vintage photographs, which add an air of mystery and curiosity to the story.

The concept behind the book is exceptional and exciting as it introduces an entire fictional world we are yet to discover. However, the pace of the book slows down at various intervals. The series of events which unfolds could have been executed quicker and more smoothly. In fact the book itself could have delved more into the details of Miss Peregrine’s home, as described. Nonetheless, Riggs has penned two sequels to his series, and we will definitely learn more about this fictional universe. The uniqueness behind the story is its driving factor, which makes it an exciting read.
