Golden Child of brunch hotspots and easy on the wallets!
Big surprises come in small packages, and ‘Cafe Bagatalle’ couldn’t be a better example of that very statement. Located on Bagatalle road, the cafe’s exterior reinstates it’s healthy eating vibe. Cafe Bagatalle would have to be one of the few cafes in the country which managed to deliver healthy meals, at a Michelin Star taste level! Also, the menu allows you to track how much calories you’ve consumed along with basic nutrition facts, making it all the more convenient for everyone!

The interior itself is quite small, and I would not recommend the place for any large crowds- however with that being said, this could be considered the ideal spot for a date! A well maintained interior, with friendly staff who did seem a little jittery at the beginning (newbie vibes?), but managed to deliver a great service nonetheless.
Drinks
Lassi with mint and peach- Rs.275

The Lassi carried it’s authentic taste, while the mint leaves left the aroma of the leaf lingering, without the actual tingly taste. The peach flavor in the drink was not very obvious, however to those out there with super sensitive nasal receptors, a hint of the peach would have been noticeable. With that being said, the Lassi lived up to its name – a true Indian delicacy.
Fresh Watermelon with a drop of Ginger- Rs.200

Don’t be fooled by the ‘drop of ginger’ statement because that drink contains a hell of a lot of ginger! That being said, the unusual combo actually turned out pretty great! The watermelon used tasted fresh, and the the spicy kick given by the extra ginger added will leave you wanting more. Also, the extra ginger, without surprise left that satisfying burning sensation at the back of your throat – which went perfectly with the cooling sensation of the juice. A definite ‘on cloud 9’ experience.
Appetisers
Prawns, Cottage Cheese and Orange- Rs. 550

Although the ingredients mentioned did cause some doubt in the back of my mind, lets just say this would have to be one of THE BEST salads I’ve ever tasted! The prawns were succulent, the vegetables were crunchy and all the ingredients on the plate tasted very fresh. The salad was well seasoned and was presented with a very generous amount of dressing, which made everything taste absolutely heavenly. Adding on to that, the portion sizes were quite massive too – including the prawns! Definitely would recommend this to anyone who has been traumatized by horrible salad experiences in the past.
Roasted Tomato Soup with a touch of cream- Rs. 340

Their tomato soup has got to be the Queen of all Tomato soups. It was of the right consistency, and was flavoured to perfection. It was well presented, with the right amount of cream which helped to amp up the flavor of the soup.
Mains
Waffled sandwich chicken- Rs. 500

Upon eyeing the slices of cheese that I would have to consume (it’s criminal, I know- but really not a fan of cheese), the thought of stopping after one bite was a thing of the past after the very first bite! A generous amount of creamy chicken layered on the slices of bread which were toasted to perfection, while the cheese helped enhance the flavours of the chicken filling. The sandwiches were presented along with some fries drizzled with BBQ sauce, relish, tomato ketchup and pickles. The fries were crispy but not burnt and the pickles tasted fresh and crunchy. A job well done!
Chicken text max, served with pickle and relishes- Rs. 525

The Chicken Text Max is a chicken wrap that’s bound to get you glued to your seat with your face in your (and your counterpart’s) plate. The chicken was well cooked, and all the vegetables used in the wrap were quite fresh. The wraps came out warm and the fries and relish that accompanied it, fared out well too. Unlike with many other places that offer wraps, the bread wasn’t over stuffed with vegetables, but rather maintained a perfect balance between the quantity of meat and veggies. Also, hats off to portion control!
Fettuccini with sun-dried tomatoes and chili parmesan cheese- Rs. 600

If you are a huge fan of sun-dried tomatoes or even tomato based pastas, then this would be ‘the dish’ for you. The Fettuccini was boiled to attain the textbook pasta texture, which was served with a generous amount of pasta sauce, which too was perfectly seasoned. The strong flavor of the sun-dried tomatoes can get you by surprise at times, however would strongly recommend this dish to ANY pasta lover. 10/10!
