Menu

A Chocoholic’s Paradise!

The opening of Chocoholics is a god-send to anyone with a sweet-tooth and/or loves, nay, adores chocolate! Every single item on their menu screams chocolate and mind you, they don’t hold back with the chocolate either. From pancakes to crepes to fondues and waffles, they’ll lather and bathe your order in it! The little restaurant is a cosy and quaint spot located in Havelock (yet another win for anyone who goes to RIC :P). The ambience is ideal for sipping on a mug of hot chocolate and pouring over your books, or enjoying a sweet waffle while tackling those pesky work deadlines, or to merely enjoy a casual date.

Moreover, the wonderful smell of the sweet batter being used to make a waffle, crepe or pancake wafts in the air and that makes it even better. We didn’t have to wait for too long either to start digging into the long awaited food because they brought it over pretty fast.

Since the main star here was the chocolate, I should mention that the chocolate they use is rich and you can definitely tell that it is of superior quality. The quantity of their portions are also just right, I feel.

Drinks

Spicy Hot Chocolate- Rs. 599

They have a good range of hot and cold beverages to choose from. It was smoothies, milkshakes, caffeine and chocolate drinks galore, but I really wanted to try out the Spicy Hot Chocolate because a) I had a sore throat coming on, so I knew this would do the trick and b) it is a known fact that chili magnifies the cocoa flavour when mixed together, and it did indeed!

The chocolate wasn’t too thick and had the perfect balance between the sweet and the spice. It was certainly something different and was definitely what I needed. So if you ever feel like you are starting to get sick, down a samahan and a Spicy Hot Chocolate and you’re good to go!

Mains

Fettuccine Crepe- Rs. 699

It’s not often that you come across a fettuccine inspired crepe dish, so you should try this one out without a doubt! Topped with a huge dollop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled chocolate, this was perfection! The crepe had been sliced into fettuccine pasta-like strips and placed on the plate in a similar manner. Every element went together so well and the crepe itself tasted amazing. They’d manage to combine the crispy and sweet factors brilliantly and the hard chocolate under the ice cream scoop also made it better. A definite recommend!

Peanut Butter Waffle- Rs. 799

YAAAS. This waffle is a dream come true to a profound peanut butter lover (like me)! They had generously slathered a lot of thick and crunchy peanut butter on top of the fluffy waffles and had drizzled chocolate sauce on it as well. I would eat this for breakfast everyday if I could, tbh.

Chocoholics Stack- Rs. 899

They don’t kid around with the term “chocoholic” folks! This stack of mini pancakes came completely covered in thick chocolate sauce; I could barely even see the pancakes underneath! Like I mentioned earlier, the chocolate they use is extremely rich and I’m pretty sure I tasted maple syrup as well, so the combination of loads of thick chocolate sauce and syrup is unimaginably sweet. You may need a glass of water after this one! I had no complaints with the pancakes as they were light, fluffy and served hot and fresh; just the way I like it!

Krispies In A Bowl- Rs. 499

Oh sweet deities of chocolate heaven! This creation is ingenious! Instead of gobbling average chocolate krispies with milk, you can try this out! The Krispies in a Bowl included plain rice krispies and instead of milk, they used warm chocolate! I died. It tasted so good that I was at an absolute loss for words. The only thing that would have made better is a shot glass of cold milk. Hands down, one of the best cereal-incorporated dishes I’ve had.

Tip: Just try everything!
