One of the most anticipated and sought after beauty pageants is none other than the Miss Universe pageant held annually. Each year, 86 international beauty queens make there way to the event, with the hope of being crowned Miss Universe. This year Miss France will return home with the crown on her head.
With the grand finale being held on January 29th, 2017 in Manila Philippines, Miss France, Iris Mittenaere was adjudged the winner. She’s only the second Miss France to ever win the Miss Universe crown and is also the first European to take the crown since 2002.
The brunette beauty went on to the worldwide competition after being crowned Miss France 2016. Iris is a native of Lille, a city in northern France, and her platform throughout the competition has been advocating for dental and oral hygiene.
The second place went to Miss Haiti, Raquel Pélissier and Miss Colombia, Andrea Tovar was placed as the second runner up.
