Cooking with Aunty D.
What’s an Eid food table without Wattalapan? It’s a must on the dessert table. A coconut custard concoction that’s heaven in your taste buds.
Ingredients:
- Thick coconut milk 500ml
- Kitul Jaggery (grated) 400g
- Eggs 5
- Nutmeg Powder 1tsp
- Cardamoms (crushed) 1
- Butter 1tsp
- Cashew nuts 25g
Method:
- Heat the milk with grated jaggery in a low flame. Make sure you dont let it boil.
- Beat the eggs and add the cardamom and nutmeg into it.
- Strain the milk and jaggery mixture into the eggs.
- Oil a Pyrex dish with butter and pour the Wattalappan mixture into it.
- Microwave it for 13-15 min.
