What’s an Eid food table without Wattalapan? It’s a must on the dessert table. A coconut custard concoction that’s heaven in your taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • Thick coconut milk 500ml
  • Kitul Jaggery (grated) 400g
  • Eggs 5
  • Nutmeg Powder 1tsp
  • Cardamoms (crushed) 1
  • Butter 1tsp
  • Cashew nuts 25g

Method:

  1. Heat the milk with grated jaggery in a low flame. Make sure you dont let it boil.
  2. Beat the eggs and add the cardamom and nutmeg into it.
  3. Strain the milk and jaggery mixture into the eggs.
  4. Oil a Pyrex dish with butter and pour the Wattalappan mixture into it.
  5. Microwave it for 13-15 min.
