Upon recalling a few childhood memoirs, my mom told me that any time we went somewhere new, the first place that I would run to, was the bathroom all because I wanted to see if it was a good looking room. Many of us flee to our bathrooms in order to get a quick getaway from the day’s stress and pains; some of us prefer filling our tubs to the brim and pulling ourselves a calming bubble bath with sweet aromas in the air, some light music playing in the background, an enthralling book to read and a relieving glass of wine. Others may favour a nice long shower with the water on their skin like the feel of rain and imagining a beautiful scenic landscape. Well, here are a few tips to make your bathroom-getaway the perfect escape, making you feel like there truly is no place like home.
- Fifty shades of Green
Color your walls in different shades of green which would bring a very nature filled atmosphere to your bathroom. For those of us who enjoy the great outdoors, going green is one of the best options you could go for to consequently get the almost life like experience of being in a calming green pasture. Add a colorful plant on the sink top or on a ledge and you are good to go.
- Monochrome it
We all love ourselves a little bit of black and little bit of white. So why not make the perfect escape both? It emits a high standard, classy effect and can almost be hypnotic; hypnotic enough to let your problems and stress down the drain.
- DIY projects
Be bold and put your DIY talents on display! Never be afraid to utilize things around the house that you don’t use or think out of the box and buy items you wouldn’t expect to see in the usual boring bathroom.
- Clean and tidy all the way
For us neat freaks, separate your cosmetics and other must-haves by category and use small drawer organizers that you can rearrange at any time you please. Organize your towels in a small cabinet of sorts and color-code them or arrange them in a way which would look colorful and unique.
- Go color wild!
We all have a favorite color which would always have a special place reserved in the very depths of our hearts. Incorporating the color you love in your mission to creating the perfect bathroom would definitely be a show stopper.
- Shading in tiles
We have to admit; completely tiling your bathroom from top to bottom is elegant and refined. Moreover, using different shades of a color would really bring out an artistic effect to your chic getaway.
- Antiques and Out-of-the-blues
Using antique items would definitely make your bathroom look more vintage and rustic and making use of such items to create bathroom furniture necessities is one way of saying you are an incredibly talented and out-of-the-box thinker.
- Aromatherapy
A personal favorite of mine; vanilla and lavender. The aroma from essential oils is widely believed to stimulate brain function and promote whole-body healing. So grab a couple of sweet smelling candles and let your perfect getaway smell amazing.
