Hwachae | Cooking with Aunty D

Cool off the Korean way with hwachae, a refreshing fruit punch made with juicy watermelon and other fruits, chilled milk and soda. 

It’s light, colourful and perfect for this heat.

Try it out with Aunty D!

Ingredients:

Watermelon 3 cups

Mango 1 ½ cups

Strawberries 1 cup

Grapes 1 cup

Strawberry flavoured jelly 1 cup

Boiled sago 2 cups

Ice 2 cups

Strawberry milk 500 ml

Sprite 100 ml

Method:

Chop all fruits and cut the jelly into cubes.

Ensure the boiled sago is cooked and cooled.

In a serving bowl, add the chopped watermelon and other fruits.

Add the cubed jelly on top of the fruit.

Add the boiled sago.

Pour in the strawberry milk.

Top with Sprite.

Add ice and give everything a gentle stir.

Serve it up freshly chilled and cool down!
