Serà Batter Fried Cuttlefish | Cooking with Aunty D

Us Sri Lankans will never say no to some delicious batter fried cuttlefish. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and flavourful in every bite.

Complete your festive spread this Christmas with this crowd-favourite dish, with Serà!

Ingredients:

Cuttlefish 300g

Serà Salt 3/4 tsp

Serà Black Pepper Powder 1/2 tsp

Lime Juice 1 tsp

Garlic Powder 1 tsp

Cornflour 1/2 cup

All-Purpose Flour 1 cup

Serà Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp

Butter 1 1/2 tbsp

Serà Chilli Flakes 1 1/2 tsp

Ginger + Garlic 1/2 tsp

Sugar 1 tsp

Onion Leaves

 

Method:

Carefully clean and cut the cuttlefish into ring shape sizes.

Combine and marinate the cuttlefish with Serà salt, Serà black pepper powder, lime juice and garlic powder for 30-60 minutes.

Next, coat the marinated cuttlefish in cornflour batter and all-purpose flour and deep fry.

Heat up a pan with butter, Serà chilli flakes, Serà salt, ginger-garlic paste, sugar and mix.

Add the cuttlefish to the pan and toss it in the buttery chilli mixture for a few minutes.

Add some sliced onions, stir, and garnish with onion leaves to finish off your delicious Batter Fried Cuttlefish!
