Crepes That Strike a Balance: Filling Yet Perfectly Snack-Sized!

Satisfy your cravings with delicious crepes and beverages at your convenience. Expanding their business to seven branches, Crepe Runner is now at Colombo City Center, one of many popular hangout spots in Colombo.

This would be an ideal place to grab a bite for not just those who had a long day, but even for someone who wants to create lovely memories. Crepe Runner serves a wide array of mouth-watering crispy crepes, from your sweet to savoury needs, along with a variety of refreshing beverages ranging from light to heavy that fit perfectly to your choice of crepes.

Strawberry Maniac with Nutella Base – LKR 910 (4/5)

This sweet crepe with a Nutella spread as a base is served with sliced strawberries and crunchy cornflakes. All sweet crepes come with three base spread options such as milk chocolate, white chocolate and Nutella – allowing you to freely explore flavours that match your taste palette. Being a fan of strawberries, I would have welcomed some additional servings of this delectable fruit nevertheless.

Peanut Butter + Banana with Milk Chocolate Base – LKR 650 (5/5)

Peanut butter and banana? Of course, the famous combo as we all know is a must-try and this was my favourite. This heavenly crepe strikes the perfect balance of sweetness, with the milk chocolate base complementing the classic duo of peanut butter and banana. The tiny scoops of peanut butter melt in your mouth, leaving you craving more with each bite. It’s an irresistible treat!

Runner Beef Steak – LKR 930 (3/5)

Runner beef steak is a crispy crepe stuffed with beef steak, cheese and herbs. These crepes are all of the same size but this one was, indeed, one filling crepe. The beef had a good taste but was slightly overcooked and dry, making it my least favourite among the choices. However, this doesn’t discourage me from giving it another chance in the future.

Strawberry Red Bull Mojito – LKR 1,410 (5/5)

This was a refresher! After having the sweet crepes this was a much-needed drink to have before hitting the savoury crepe. The Strawberry Red Bull Mojito had a unique twist on the classic Mojito cocktail. The strawberry flavour added a sweet and fruity note to the drink, which is balanced out by the refreshing mint and lime. As the name says, the highlight is definitely the Red Bull; giving an energy punch if you’re in need of a little pick-me-up. If you are one of the people who enjoy Red Bull this is a must at Crepe Runner.

Coffee Milkshake – LKR 500 (3/5)

If you’re in the mood for a classic option, the Coffee Milkshake is worth a try. However, the coffee flavour in this milkshake is subtle, which may disappoint those seeking a stronger coffee taste. While initially enjoyable, the flavour doesn’t linger for long.

Ambience (4/5)

Stepping into Crepe Runner at Colombo City Centre rewards you with an Instagram-worthy ambience. A setting of warm lights with captivating wall paintings creates a welcoming atmosphere for families, friends, couples and even your solo dates. The CCC branch is a small outlet yet one that has not failed to bring a warm feeling to its customers. The ambience has its own way to lift up the mood of anyone to make a beautiful memory. This is also an ideal place to drop by to grab a quick bite if you’re having a busy schedule. Crepe Runner’s environment-friendly packaging allows for convenient takeaways, making it easy to share these delightful crepes with your loved ones.

Greeting each customer with a smile and a warm welcome, the staff here does a phenomenal job. They pay attention to each of their customers by taking time to listen to their preferences and providing recommendations to cater to their needs. Most importantly their fast service; it took only around 10 minutes to serve us which is great, especially for those who arrive with hunger in tow. They are a team working together to make a lasting impression on their customers.
