Cooking with Aunty D.
Wadei is always a favourite among most Lankans. Whether it is a small package of 10 from a Nana Kade, or scrumptious wadeis you concocted in your very own kitchen, parippu wadei is, without a doubt, amazing. It’s easy to make and extra delicious! Happy cooking!
Ingredients:
- Parippu 250g
- Onion 1
- Green chillies 3
- Chilli flakes 3 tsp
- Salt 1 1/2 tsp
- Maldive fish
- Curry leaves
- Fortune coconut oil
Method:
- Soak parippu for 15 minutes and wash.
- Grind only half of the parippu and mix with the other half.
- Add chopped green chillies, chopped onion, finely cut curry leaves, chilli flakes and salt.
- Thoroughly mix the parippu mixture and seasoning.
- Make small balls and put maldive fish piece inside the balls.
- Heat fortune coconut oil and fry wadei until golden brown.
