Lankans can make anything into a delicious curry, that’s for sure. Here’s a new and simple recipe for a spicy Ash Plantain Black Curry you can make at home!

Ingredients:

  • Ash plantain 250g
  • Coriander powder ½ tsp
  • Cumin powder ¼ tsp
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Small onion ½
  • Curry leaves and Rampa
  • Green chilli 2
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Pepper ½ tsp
  • Chilli powder ½ tsp
  • Cinnamon ½ inch stick
  • Coconut milk 1 ½ cups

Method:

  1. Cut Ash plantains into 1 ½ inch size cubes Dry roast cumin and coriander powder until dark brown
  2. Add oil, onion, curry leaves, and rampa. Then add ash plantains.
  3. Add green chilli, salt, pepper, chilli powder, and cinnamon
  4. Finally add coconut milk and cook until you get a thick gravy
