Cooking with Aunty D.
It’s almost Avurudu! These delicious Aggala balls are a must for your table! Get cooking!
Method 1
Ingredients:
- Rice 500 g
- Coconut/Kitul treacle 1 cup
- Pepper 1/4 tsp
- Sugar 1/2 cup
- Water 1/4 cup
Method:
- Wash and dry the rice. Then roast the rice until golden brown.
- Grind the roasted rice.
- Add coconut/kitul treacle into a pan and heat it.
- Add sugar and water. Then add some pepper.
- When it gets thicker, add the pounded rice flour.
- Let it cool for 5-10 minutes.
- Shape into balls and keep for Avurudu!
Method 2
Ingredients:
- Rice 500 g
- Coconut 1 cup
- Salt 1/4 tsp
- Sugar 1 cup
- Coconut/Kitul treacle 1/2 cup
Method:
- Wash and dry the rice. Then roast the rice until golden brown.
- Grind the roasted rice.
- Put the grated coconut into a bowl. Add salt, sugar and roasted pounded rice flour.
- Mix well.
- Shape into balls and serve!.
