Learn how to make a spicy, authentic, and delicious malay achcharu below!


• Green chilies 100g
• Red onions 150g
• Big onions 100g
• Carrots 100g
• Vinegar 1 ½ cups
• Chili powder 1 tbsp
• Pepper 1 tsp
• Mustard powder ½ tsp
• Ginger and garlic 1 tsp
• Salt 1 tbsp
• Sugar 1 tbsp
• Dates 150g
• Capsicum 100g
• Salt 1 tbsp


1. Cut the green chilies into halves, big onions into cubes, capsicum into circles, carrot into small pieces, and mash the dates.
2. Take a clay pot, and add vinegar, chili powder, pepper, mustard powder, ginger and garlic paste, salt, and sugar. Mix well and then add the mashed dates. Make a paste.
3. Heat on a low flame to get a thick paste. Once done, turn off the flame and then add the other ingredients.
4. Mix well.
