The first meal of the year for any Sri Lankan calls for some traditional milk rice.
Here’s how you make it to welcome a new and prosperous year!
Ingredients:
Raw White Rice 2 cups
Water 4 cups
Coconut Milk 1 1/2 cups
Salt 1 1/2 tsp
Method:
Heat up a pot on the stove with washed raw white rice and water, and cover it with a lid to let it cook.
When the rice is almost done, mix in coconut milk and salt and cover the pot once again.
Finally, give the rice a good mix, cut it into shapes of your preference and enjoy with some spicy katta sambol!
