Add a nostalgic twist to your Avurudu table with this crispy, golden Narang Kavum. Sweet, spiced and absolutely irresistible!

Ingredients:
Sugar 1 cup
Water 1/4 cup
Coconut treacle 1 cup
Grated coconut 4 cups
Ground cardamom 4 + cinnamon 1/4 inch
White raw rice flour 2 cups
Egg 1 no
Turmeric 1/2 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Thick coconut milk 3/4 cup
Sugar 2 tbsp

Method:
Here’s the easiest way to make the classic Narang Kavum!

Start by adding sugar, water and coconut treacle into a pot. Mix until it starts to bubble.  

Add grated coconut and a bit of ground cardamom and cinnamon. Stir everything well.

Get a bowl of rice flour, then add an egg. Next, add turmeric, salt, thick coconut milk and sugar. Mix it until smooth.  

Now form the coconut mix into small balls. Dip them in the batter.  

Heat up some fortune oil in a pot and fry the coated balls until they’re golden and crisp.  

Serve this at your Avurudu table and your guests will come back for more. Enjoy!
