Thalapath Curry | Cooking with Aunty D

Oil 1 tbsp

Cumin 1/8 tsp

Fenugreek 1/8 tsp

Sweet Cumin 1/8 tsp

Cardamom 2 pods

Cinnamon 1/2 tsp

Garlic 3 cloves

Ginger 1/2 inch

B. Onion 1 big

Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp

Pepper 1 tsp

Chilli Powder 1 tsp

Salt 1/2 tsp

Tomato 1 large

Green Chilli 5 nos

Goraka 2 nos

COCOnut Frozen Grated Coconut

Thalapath 500g

Mustard powder 1/2 tsp

Lime Juice


First, add oil into a pot followed by cumin, fenugreek, sweet cumin, cinnamon, cardamom, garlic, ginger, curry leaves, rampe and mix well.

Next, add onions, turmeric powder, pepper, chilli powder, salt, tomatoes, red and green chillis, goraka and mix well.

Add COCOnut Frozen Grated Coconut into a bowl followed by water, mix well and remove the grated coconut leaving the coconut milk.

Next, add the coconut milk into the pot followed by thalapath, mix well and cover with a lid allowing the thalapath to cook.

Finally, add mustard powder and lime juice into the pot once the thalapath is completely cooked and serve accordingly.
