Cooking with Aunty D.
Love doughnuts? So do we! Here’s how you can make these delicious goodies at home this Christmas. Get frying!
Ingredients:
- Flour 500 g
- Water 200 ml
- Yeast 10 g
- Sugar 80 g
- Salt 5 g
- Margarine 150 g
- Milk powder 40 g
- Egg 1
- Fortune Vegetable Oil (to fry)
For Icing Glaze:
- Milk 1/2 cup
- Vanilla 1 tsp
- Icing sugar 200 g
- Red Colouring
Method:
- Mix flour, yeast, salt, milk powder and sugar.
- Add egg and water and mix into a dough.
- Add margarine and develop dough. Keep aside for 20 mins.
- Roll the risen dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut the dough into doughnut shapes
- Fry for 2-3 min in Fortune Vegetable Oil.
Method for Icing glaze:
- Boil milk and add icing sugar and vanilla.
- Then separate the mixture and add red colouring to half.
- Cover the top of the doughnuts with the white icing glaze. Then dribble the coloured icing glaze over the doughnuts.
