Tantalising food with a view

If you’re looking for a hearty meal with a beautiful view Ti Amo is the place to go. Their balcony overlooks the iconic Lotus Tower directly on top of the scenic Beira Lake.

To find out exactly what you’re missing out on continue reading our review for some of their best dishes!

Starters

Crumb Fried Hadalla (LKR 950)

You can find these crispy treats under Ti Amo’s Kata Gasma (කට  ගස් ම) range. It’s their twist on a famous Sri Lankan bite. Consisting of a platter surrounded by these crunchy and delicious hadalla with a bold tartar sauce. This is truly reminiscent of Sri Lankan style fish and chips (minus the chips) and they complement each other well.

Chicken Lollipop (LKR 900)

This starter is perfect if you’re just looking to have a drink with your friends, the crispiness of the outside really suits the tender and flavourful chicken on the inside all in a convenient and non-mess package! You can order their dynamite sauce that really completes the whole dish.

Hot Butter Cuttlefish (LKR 1,250)

This Sri Lankan favourite is given a little Ti Amo’s twist and we absolutely loved it! There was so much on the platter that we could barely finish. There were large chunks of cuttlefish covered in a perfectly golden brown batter. I’ve had better HBC before but this was a pretty close top however, I do think it could have been slightly crispier and less chewy.

Animal Style Fries  (LKR 950)

This was my favourite dish of the day; I gobbled this down like an animal reminiscent of the name of the dish! The fries were covered in a layer of gooey cheese and their dynamite sauce with pieces of crispy bacon sprinkled all over. This is a must order if you ever visit Ti Amo.

Mains

Ti Amo Portugese Grilled Chicken (LKR 1,150)

Ti Amo’s spin on Portuguese chicken and rice was on point! The chicken breasts were perfectly grilled and weren’t dry at all which is usually the case with grilled chicken. The flavour was present throughout the whole breast and was absolutely mouth wateringly good. The rice was a good combo and an overall great dish.

Grilled Pork Chops (LKR 1,600)

Probably my second favourite dish we tried. The pork chops were perfectly cooked however slightly tough but that may be because we had to wait until all the pictures of the food were taken. The mashed potatoes and sauce that accompanied the two chops were also quite flavourful and complimented each other well. It’s notable to mention that all the portion sizes are massive and will fill you up guaranteed!

Ti Amo Special Crispy Double Decker Chicken Burger (LKR 1,150)

This massive burger is a must order, with two chicken patties and a perfectly cooked egg trickling down the middle it was hard not to resist eating it as soon as it came out of the kitchen but alas the pictures must come first. The chicken was perfectly crispy and the sauce that was accompanying it was scrumptious! It also came with some spicy fries that paired with the dip was delicious.

Deserts

Mango Mousse (LKR 250)

This mousse was one of the best I’ve ever had; it was light and fluffy and had the right amount of sweetness. Consisting of a light and moist cake that was in between two layers of mango mousse sprinkled with chunks of yellow mango you can’t go wrong with this yummy desert perfect after a heavy and filling meal.

Brownie with Chocolate Ice Cream (LKR 250)

The classic brownie and ice cream duo that everyone’s had before. Ti Amo’s brownie was nice and soft on the inside with a gooey texture, however it was slightly too sweet for my liking. That’s not to say that you won’t enjoy it if you have a bigger sweet tooth than I do.

Drinks

Mango Mule Mocktail (LKR 550)

Made with mango puree, cucumber, honey, lime juice and ginger beer. If you like a drink with a little bit of kick to it this is the one for you. It was a slightly unusual combination for my palette but I did enjoy this unique Mocktail. I can picture myself drinking this on a hot afternoon as the perfect refresher.

Ti Amo Energizer (LKR 850)

Made with Red Bull, orange juice, mint and raspberries this energizer truly lives up to its name. Reminiscent of a Mojito with an extra burst of flavours from the raspberry and orange juice it was one of the best Mocktails I’ve ever tried.

Ambience

As you walk in you’re greeted by a creative and unique feature wall plastered with articles from food magazines and a really cute sign. The lower floor itself transported you to a beach side hotel with nautical themed light fixtures and sand blasted imitation wood floors and tables. What really stole the show was their upstairs balcony, overlooking the Beira lake you had a perfect view of the Lotus Tower in all its glory. I could definitely see myself and a couple friends spending a lovely evening there.

Extra Note: You definitely get your money’s worth at Ti Amo, the portion sizes were impressive. Not only this but their presentation was impeccable!
