Sri Lankan Mango Curry

As far as Lankan delicacies go, our Mango Curries are probably one of the best curries you could ever eat. The zesty, unique taste of the dish is always enjoyable to one’s palette and is simple curry to make at home.

Ingredients:

  • Mango 500g
  • Chillie powder 2tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 small Onion
  • Curry leaves
  • Rampe
  • Sugar 4 tsp
  • Roasted curry powder 1 1/2 tsp
  • (Kalu kudu) Roasted mustard seeds 1 1/2 tsp
  • Thick coconut milk 2 cups

 

Method

  1. Clean and cut mango into pieces.
  2. Add chilli powder, curry powder, and turmeric powder, salt, green chillies, garlic, onion, curry leaves, rampe, and sugar
  3. Add thick coconut milk
  4. Cook on low heat for 20 – 25 minutes
  5. Switch off the cooker and add roasted curry powder (kalu kudu) and roasted mustard powder
